Advocacy & Awareness | 2018

Innovation Synopsis

The Prince George's County Memorial Library 2017 holiday card was designed to show gratitude to our library customers by giving them digital library resources gift cards: hoopla, OnePlay, LearningExpress, Brainfuse: VetNow, JobNow & HelpNow, Rosetta Stone, Lynda.com, ArtistWorks and ComicsPlus. All free, usable anytime, anywhere with their library card and internet access.

Challenge/Opportunity

The challenge was to creatively engage our customers about the phenomenal, money-saving, life-changing library digital resources that they could access without ever leaving home to have free fun during the holidays and achieve their New Year's resolution goals. The library is about books and more! The holiday video card was designed to invite our customers to experience the more!

Key Elements of Innovation

  1. Choose a seasonal design to say thank-you to customers, with holiday graphics and music.
  2. Create the holiday card video including writing the script, recording voice over and uploading selected images. Edit video content including transitions, sound, voice, timing, layout and script.
  3. Create an assortment of gift cards as a marketing tool. Encourage customers to share them with family and friends as stocking stuffers or with holiday emails.
  4. Upload holiday video and send targeted email messaging.
