Designed for non-technical employees, this online training program equips participants with the skills to seamlessly adopt and integrate AI tools into their daily workflows, enhancing productivity and innovation in the workplace.
This course will empower library staff of all technical skill levels to explore AI tools, build meaningful relationships with AI methods, and develop competencies that enhance their professional toolkit. Participants will leave the program ready to integrate AI fluency into their workflows, driving positive outcomes for their libraries and communities.
Business Value Calculator Workshop

ULC’s Business Value Calculator (BVC) is a resource that helps public libraries quantify the economic impact of their support to entrepreneurs and small business owners in their communities. Since its original release in 2022, libraries have successfully used the tool to communicate with stakeholders and advocate for library funding. In February 2025, ULC released an updated version of the tool and accompanying resources. Updates include additional suggestions to calculate various metrics, the ability to calculate the impact of a library makerspace, adjustments for inflation, and the option to receive an AI-generated summary of key themes.
Join this 90-minute workshop to learn more about how to use the BVC and its 2025 updates, hear from library staff who have used the BVC to support their work, and have the opportunity to ask questions of ULC staff.
