Anythink Libraries, Colo.
Innovation Synopsis
“The Singing Tree” is a public art piece at Anythink Perl Mack that also operates as a musical instrument. This outdoor installation uses light and sound to create an interactive experience that draws in all ages to the library.
Challenge/Opportunity
Anythink is committed to providing interactive public art to the communities served by its libraries. One of the outcomes of Anythink’s current strategic plan is that “people are enriched by learning and culture.” Public art supports communities in distinct ways, including providing a sense of cultural identity and belonging. Prior to the installation of “The Singing Tree,” no other public art existed in the Perl Mack community.

It is enjoyed and played daily by all ages.
