ULC’s member libraries are located in communities through the U.S. and Canada. As public sector institutions, they comprise a varied mix of revenue and governance structures and serve communities with populations of differing size – from approximately 30,000 to more than 8 million residents. Through rich and varied programs and services, ULC libraries serve people of all ages. They are community centers for education and lifelong learning; economic and workforce development; health, wellness and public safety and environmental sustainability.
In addition to bridging the digital divide by providing public access technology services, ULC libraries are pioneers in the use of digital media, mobile applications, e-reading and other modes of enrichment that technology makes possible in the 21st century.
