New Officers and Members Elected to the Urban Libraries Council Board of Directors

Washington, DC — The Urban Libraries Council elected its 2024-2025 Board of Directors during an Annual Member Business Meeting held on June 20, 2024.

"ULC is proud to welcome a dynamic group of individuals to our Board of Directors," said ULC President and CEO Brooks Rainwater. "They are leaders committed to our mission of strengthening and advancing the essential role of public libraries as a dynamic place for innovation, equity, and opportunity. I look forward to working with them in the year ahead."

Four Board officers were elected by the ULC membership, including:

  • Pilar Martinez (CEO, Edmonton Public Library) – Chair
  • Joey Crawford (Senior Media Consultant, Cox Media Group and CMG Health Marketing) – Vice Chair/Chair-Elect
  • Brian Bannon (Merryl and James Tisch Director, New York Public Library) – Secretary/Treasurer
  • Roosevelt Weeks (Director, Austin Public Library) – Immediate Past Chair

ULC members also elected two new and four returning Board members, who will serve two-year terms:

  • Tess Shih (Benchmarking Committee Chair, Los Angeles County Library Commission) – first term
  • Andrew Trueblood (housing and economic development professional) – first term
  • Heidi Daniel (Executive Director, King County Library System) – second term
  • Grace Nordoff (Board Member, The Seattle Public Library Foundation) – second term
  • Michelle VonderHaar (Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, Tenable) – third term
  • Roosevelt Weeks (Director, Austin Public Library) – third term
